How To Think And Turbocharge Motivation

HOW YOU THINK DETERMINES HOW YOU FEEL. HOW YOU FEEL DETERMINES WHAT YOU DO.
In this article you’ll discover how to think and turbocharge motivation so you get more from your training and enhance all areas of your life. If you like the idea of holistic movement that strengthens the bond between body, mind, spirit and infuses conscious thought so an ordinary exercise experience becomes and extraordinary exercise experience, read on.

HOW TO THINK ON PURPOSE.
To think “on purpose”, means you pay attention to the constant dialogue playing between your ears. In essence, when you develop increased awareness of your thoughts, you become better able to change them, when required. By infusing awareness into being, you become a conscious participant in your life and play a part in determining the outcomes in your experience.

INTENTION-THE INVISIBLE FORCE THAT DRIVES YOU.
The intent you weave into everything you do, determines the quality of it. Intention is the powerful invisible force the drives you. Intent is what deeply, viscerally connects you to the action, the doing stuff.
So, before you even show up to a session, I challenge you to ask yourself, “What do I intend from this training session?”.You may intend “to get it over and done with as quickly as possible” or you may intend “to generate the most powerful, transformative session possible”. Either way, whatever you intend will be driving the physical action and thus determine the outcome.
Negative intentions deplete motivation and diminish the experience. Positive intentions turbocharge motivation and enhance the experience.

WHAT STORY ARE YOU TELLING?
Bring awareness to the story you’re telling yourself, not only when you exercise, but in every moment of every day. Throughout my own personal health journey, I’ve discovered the profound dynamic between thoughts, feelings and behaviours. With this in mind, your next challenge is to change your story, if required, so that it empowers you while you exercise.
The physical body receives and responds to the way you speak and think. Negative language and thought forms a negative response in the physical body. Positive language and thought forms a positive response in the physical body. Positive affirmations stated in the present tense repeated while you exercise send a signal to the body that enhances physical action.
Do you tell yourself “I can’t”, I’m weak”, “I’m undisciplined”? If so, it’s time to change your story. Dr Joe Dispenza, world-renowned authority on the power of the mind-body connection, says “The affirmations we repeat to ourselves on a daily basis are the programs we live by, and they can either aid us or inhibit us from creating, growing, and experiencing new things in our lives.” He discusses the power of self-talk in more detail in this article.

PERCEPTION-CHANGE YOUR VIEW.
Do you see exercise as a chore and a bore? Or do you see it as a gift to your body? Do you approach it with resistance and a negative mind-set? Or do you feel grateful and positive because you have the ability to move and improve your health?
Your perceptions matter because they are imbued with feeling and your feelings ultimately form your reality. So some extra food for conscious thought, is to check-in with how you actually view exercise. Once you know whether you hold a negative or positive view, you can always choose to change your mind.
